USO CC Australia BBQ 2024 – Day at the Bay Recap

A time of year looked forward to by so many riders across New South Wales and around the East Coast, well known for its amazing BBQ, large number of cars on display, good people and chilled vibes. USO CC Australia BBQ 2024 – Day at the Bay was expected to be a little bigger than previous years with the growth of the lowrider community within Australia, and more and more people travelling from interstate to get involved and share their support for one of Australia’s most respected car clubs…but I don’t think anyone could have predicted “HOW BIG” it turned out to be. With the largest gathering and support in USO BBQ history it was a day to remember!

An absolutely huge turn out that resulted in the local coffee van having to cancel his plans for the rest of the day because there was NO WAY he was going to get out of the carpark with lowriders crammed into carpark like an overstocked car dealership (not that he could complain, he’s already arranged to be back next year ha-ha).

Local beach goers and mid-day walkers were left stunned and speechless as they went about their day as normal only to find a normally relaxed quiet carpark looking like a movie scene shot in the heart of California! High lock ups, cars tipping on 3 wheels, hopping, chipping and laid on ground, it really was an incredible site to see.

With riders, clubs, photographers and spectators coming from multiple areas, and even a few cars making the trip from Queensland thanks to Fresh Stylz CC and SickSide CC, there really was representation from almost all aspects of the Australian lowrider community keen to support the club and the scene.

12 years of lowriding in Australia is a massive achievement and upon meeting the club members it’s obvious this close-knit family has a strong connection to the lowrider community and their own individual cultures that are represented throughout the club. USO CC Australia continues to do great things, and it is a real testament to USO CC as well as their founder Kita Lealao and his legacy he created.

Big thank you to the USO CC Australia family, all the families and people involved in creating such an amazing event, all the people who I met and came and had a yarn, and people who showed their support for Lowriders Australia & New Zealand. And lastly, a BIG thank you to the brothers and sisters that took me in and made sure I got the full USO CC experience during my time in Sydney. Always an absolute vibe hanging with the Sydney riders, and I’ll be interested to see how long it takes till y’all need a bigger venue ha-ha. Bring on 2025!
